Being a parent to special needs toddler

Mamabex

This conversation is so overdue and can be a bit tabooed due to its sensitivity. But I would love to be the first to start a real conversation! How do you as a parent handle day to day life? What was your fist reaction when your child was diagnosed? Is there anything you would ha d done differently in the treatment your child is receiving?

My 4 year old is Autistic

My son was recently diagnosed with Autism. Talk about devastated. Like a lot of other people, I really didn't know much about it, and I'm still learning every single day. Finding the right providers for all the many different therapies, evaluations and special education, etc... has been pretty daunting and, at times, frustrating. As for home life, we take it minute by minute. That's the best that we can do at this point. But my son's beautiful spirit and wonderful personality makes us so grateful to be his parents!
