It happens in every family...

I have inherited alcoholism from both parents sides. There is usually some in any family. What matters is how they and you handle it. It can usually be overcome with the right support system.

As a child

i suffered emotionally & physically as a child the effects from a father who drank too much but refused to admit he had a problem. As I got older the repercussions of his actions began showing in my life and I had to go into the hospital for attempting suicide at age 16. I was there for over 3 weeks. From there, at 18 I developed panick and anxiety in which I sought help and have been seeing a Psychiatrist ever since and also being put on medication. As I aged, I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder & Borderline Personality Disorder. I’ve always remained in treatment and the one main underlying cause I’ve been told has been my dead drinking and his actions while drinking to his kids.

Ijust want you all to know that if you or a loved one is struggling with alcohol addiction or have lost someone to this disease. I am truly sorry and I empathize with you. Thankfully it kept me from drinking. But if you ever need to talk I’m glad the community is her or just as NurseMeg has already posted the hotline to speak to someone professionally.
