This is a great option for someone like me who lives in an apartment and doesn't want to have to deal with the landlord or an electrician to get a light fitted. I already have an outdoor light on my porch, but can't leave it on at night when I go out in summer as it attracts terrifying levels of bugs. So I'm super happy that this has a mode where it only lights up when motion occurs. That way I can see my door/lock when I get home at night, but I'll have time to get inside before the insects are attracted to it.

It also has the added bonus of a security light that scares off intruders by shining light in the area when they approach your house, making it easy to see them. Thanks to the hanging hook, I didn't even have to drill into the wall (thought it comes with a kit if you choose to do so) and I simply hung it from the hooks on the bottom of my mailbox.

Even though my porch is in shadow, it still got enough light to power it, though in winter it might be difficult. But for my needs, this works perfectly as a summer light. It has two other modes that stay on all the time at varying levels of brightness, and the instruction manual is easy to follow.
