As Smooth As A Baby's Bottom

it went smooth and creamy down the hatch. its good but has the same aftertaste you get after eating oatmeal, which is unenjoyable but expected as it is made of oats. i wouldn't buy this again just because I have no reason to drink oat milk. the only benefit of having milk after baby years is the quick protein you can get in a couple of gulps. oat milk doesn't have any protein (it has very little) so there's no reason to drink oat milk. perhaps if I had a reason I would choose this one.

    Best frothy coffee

I searched for months for a companion to my coffee. Once I stopped consuming dairy, my coffee became depressed and sad and I had a tough time enjoying it's company each morning. I kept trying various nut milks and then I discovered Oats! You can shake the carton and it froths up or steam it and add it warm. I no longer seek a cream replacement and now my coffee has the "cream" flavour I had been trying to find. Earth's Own can be found in most grocery stores now so it's pretty easy to track down.

    Best Dairy-Free Creamer Ever!

I’m lactose intolerant and I have been on the hunt for the ideal dairy-free coffee creamer for years…and I finally found it! In the past I tried soy, almond and coconut milk substitutes but I found them to be too watery and lacking in overall creaminess. The Earth’s Own Oat creamer is the closest to a dairy one that I’ve ever used. It blends into coffee well without affecting the taste and I even use it a cream substitute in for cooking & baking. This product can be on the pricey side but whenever I see it on sale, I’ll stock up since it keeps for a while.

If you miss lattes and drinking chocolate...

I am not dairy free or vegan, but most of my good friends are, so we make a lot of plant based treats. Imagine my surprise when this oat milk made amazing European style thick hot chocolate. We used it in coffee and the texture was great even just as a pour in, but it excelled as a latte medium. I highly recommend it, and as a bonus, it's gluten free oats as well!

best milk alternative with no overpowering taste

i love this milk alternative. it is semi-sweet, almost tastes like cereal milk, and is creamy. not as creamy as a cream but not as liquidy as milk. goes great in coffee, hot chocolate as well as on its own. i also like it doesn't have an overpowering taste like some of the other plant-based milk does. the carton can be recycled. i usually buy two at a time since i know of only one place near me that carries it.

ive only tried one other oat milk from a different brand which was very nutty-tasting and was sightly watered down. this one is definitely better

    Popular in my household

Plant-based milk alternatives have exploded in popularity in the last few years, with things like rice milk and almond milk being much easier to find than before. Recently oat milk has become very popular in my house, replacing cow’s milk in almost all situations for my partner. This 12 pack of oat milk is great value for your money and comes with the added “Barista Edition” as a bonus as well.

The Barista Edition refers to the fact that this milk will not split when you steam it to create a foam for coffee. I also found that simply shaking the carton vigorously caused it to foam up nicely in a pinch. Adding hot oat milk foam is a great addition to your morning coffee, but even without foaming oat milk is a great compliment to things like coffee or cereal. Oat milk has a slightly thicker, richer flavour and texture compared to cow’s milk which really enhances the flavour of foods. Some people are also happy to drink it out of a glass, but my partner finds that it’s best used to add it to other foods and drinks.

If you’re curious about the taste of oat milk, it’s hard to describe because it’s a very neutral flavour but it has a distinct taste or feel to it compared to cow’s milk. It’s not thick like cream, but it does seem thicker than 3% milk. Unlike some milk alternatives (coconut milk for example) there’s no risk of oat milk overwhelming the flavour of what you’re eating, so it adds to the food or drink rather than changing the taste of it.

The benefits to the environment are another good reason to try oat milk, as growing the oats necessary to make the same amount of milk produces MUCH less greenhouse gases, uses less land, and consumes much less water.
