Not what I was expecting

I #gotitfree from Family Rated, Chick Advisor and Spin Master.
First off I was under the impression it was a game, which is not.
My 7 year old was excited to see what was inside the eggs, my 11 year old (both girls) was not.
I found it hard to open the eggs. The instructions are just pictures. Once we figured it out, I almost lost a nail opening it!
We got the animals out and now what? My daughter played with them for 10 min and tossed it to the side.
Could be good for smaller kids, but then again these have very small pieces.....
Not for us. Maybe for someone else. Cute colours and basket though!!

Cute, but not much to it.

The Hatchimals CollEGGtibles Spring Basket with 5 Hatchimals and 3 Pets is really cute, but there's not much to it. My kids enjoyed opening the surprise eggs and finding out which secret Hatchimal would be hiding inside. The eggs in this set seemed a little harder to break open than other sets we've owned in the past, so I did have to help my 5 year old open hers, but my 6 year old didn't have any trouble. I liked that one egg included 3 tiny, flocked pets instead of the usual single Hatchimal because it was an extra fun surprise! I do wish that all the Hatchimals came in eggs though, instead of having two already coming opened. It makes it feel like you get less bang for your buck. While the basket is very cute, there isn't much play value to it and unfortunately, I feel this isn't a toy my kids will play with very often. They love opening these kinds of toys, but after the surprise is gone, they get bored with it quickly.
