I'm not a fan of the spice mix in these kits. For my family, its too mild and severely lacking in the flavour department. I create my own taco seasoning blend myself.

However if the kits are on sale I will buy them, just for the tortillas and shells and toss the spice mix.

Prefer the soft taco over the hard one. The soft ones have less salt and more like pita bread taste which I prefer. The hard one, has made me sick before as well. I guess it's because my body couldn't handle it. Not a bad kit for a meal.

What do you think, have you tried it?

It was my first time trying old el paso taco kit. I got the standing hard taco shell kit. The taco shell tasted not too fresh, but it was crunchy. The powder mix that goes into the ground beef, was pretty tasty. The Taco sauce that came with it, was just not good. Overall, I would probably not buy the kit.
