Not your original Caramel Cakes

I have bought these for years but you have taken so much of the caramel and cream out of them while shrinking the cake that they no longer have that nice balance it used to have. Way too much cake and not enough caramel and cream. IT IS a CARAMEL cake… or it used to be.

Oh Sweetness!

Okay, fine, I know that I shouldn't be basing my review off my last experience with these that was during an ugly photoshoot session where I had stuffed my face in quick oats with Cheetos, octopus and then these Oh Caramel! but STILL, man are these sweet for two in a pack. I almost threw up and I barely even ate these other products (I did not even touch the octopus).

Satisfies the sweet tooth

Canada Bread offered me the opportunity to try a free sample of Vachon Ah Caramel The Original Cakes. It definitely satisfied my sweet tooth. I didn't care too much for the spongy cake inside but did enjoy the caramel. The name may be a little deceiving since it was more spongy cake instead of caramel. I enjoyed the chocolate covering.

Great for sugar loving kids and adults alike

The box was a caramel color and easy to find . Very light packaging, which is great.
When opening the box, we found each serving comes individually wrapped with 2 squares . They were larger then I expected with a soft texture. I took the first bite and the sponge was soft and delicate . The addition of the cream and the caramel, the chocolate coat ontop is reminiscent of a smore. Personally for myself I found it quite sweet and could barely finish one alone . But the taste was yum .
My kids on the other hand loved the combination . They loved the size, the sponge,cream, caramel, chocolate mixture and asked for more . They are easy to handle for small hands and conveniently packaged for on the go . I think it is a great item for the price and quite affordable to help that late night sugar craving . I would definitely buy this again as a treat for my kids. #gotitfree

Decent caramel cake

The caramel cakes always made an appearance in my lunch in highschool and I have to say i wasn't a big fan of them. The vanilla cake is white as paper showing how bleached the flour is and the cake itself is also very dry. The Caramel was also very sweet and just over powered everything with sugar. Overall I'd much rather a wagon wheel or a flakey but each to its own !

Vachon cakes are staple in most Quebec homes. The Ah Caramel cakes are unique with their little bubble filled with cream and caramel. The cake is white and then the whole thing covered in a thin layer of chocolate. It is one of the sweeter cakes. You need something to drink with it. You are satisfied with 2 cakes.
