My little girl had a blast using the cool maker Hollywood hair. Looks pretty simple to play with, it kept her occupied for hours, I would definitely recommend this to family and friends

Could be better

The DIY Cool Maker Hollywood and Party Pop Refill kits could be a little better. The party pop kit is to create double buns and a ponytail. The ponytail worked well and is super cute. The buns, on the other hand, didn’t work out so well. We tried using the 2 extensions it shows in the instructions and it did not cover the bun makers very well. We added more hair and it still didn’t look right. The Starstruck kit is for side swept hair and a braid crown. The elastics were missing, so we couldn’t create the braid crown. It does look like it will be cute. We have to get some elastics that will work with it. The side swept hair is simple and easy to do.

Hollywood Hair Refill Kits

I am glad we got the refill kits because they were needed due to the fact that this was such a popular toy with the girls. Much fun was had by all. Even the adults, hee hee.

Not what we expected but not totally disappointed.

These two products were an addition to the original Hollywood Hair Extension Maker that we received for free to review.
“Starstruck”- This one was a cute addition and idea. We simply braided multiples strands together and then secured it onto the headband like the instructions said. My 9 year old loved it! She said she’s keeping it with her other headbands! She doesn’t know how to do a braid, so it’s probably better to have a parent to do this with depending on age.
“Party Pop”- She was especially excited to do this one- it looked so cute in the picture. Each ‘bun’ piece (it came with2) comes with bendable metal in it to ensure the extensions won’t move, and you use 2 extension pieces for each. It was hard for her to do it herself so I had to. Even when I did it there was a lot of space between the ‘hairs’ and it didn’t look nice at all. When I bent it and connected the ends together, like the directions said, we didn’t like the look of it, so we decided to salvage the 2 extensions that were on it. That’s when the connecting plastic enclosure wouldn’t come apart and broke in other parts. It came undone but it was pretty rough looking. We weren’t fond of the bun part of the refill pack.
However,It also came with a blue Bobby pin to secure an extension into a pony tail, which looked very cute on her also, that was our favorite part out of them all. She will definitely wear that one in the future.
That being said, I probably would not go out of my way to purchase these,m. But since we have them we will put them to use!
